Spawn is a regular customer of a waitress at a surreal diner and they share a bond that she is unaware of: Spawn intervenes at the precise moment of her death. As she draws her dying breath in a pool of blood on the sidewalk, Spawn allows her to live another 20 years in her mind. The struggle between Light and Dark ensues as Spawn questions whether to let her go. It's a sad story about the futile existence of an ordinary waitress and self-doubt.
